The Bodaway/Gap Chapter is located on the western edge of
the Navajo Nation. The chapter has several names
including: Tsin' naabaas Hwabiteen, Ba'adoweih, Hwabiteen
and Gap. It is said that Bodaway is a Bayoodzin (Puite)
word. "Gap" is named after a crossing at the pass over a
long rigde. The old wagon trail is now a two-lane dirt
road, yet to be paved.
The Bodaway/Gap Chapter conducts monthly meetings to keep
residents informed; residents have a forum to express their
opinions to their Navajo Nation Council Delegate or to
decide on matters concerning their chapter.
